JAMMU, July 21: The district vice president BJP Anantnag and councilor Mattan Rakesh Kaul has demanded implementation of 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendment in J&K UT to make the Panchayati and Local bodies more powerful.
In a statement issued here, today Kaul has made an appeal to Lt Governor G C Murmu in this regard and urged him that the decision will bring a lot of transformation in the working of democratic institutions in J&K.
He also extended his compliments to Administrative Council for sanctioning insurance cover for elected representatives saying that his was a historic step and strengthen the grass root democratic institutions in J&K.
