SAMBA, Aug 7: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Jammu today organized a public awareness program on the “Yogic Way of Life” at the Community Hall in Ramgarh, aiming to promote holistic health and well-being among the local population.
The event featured a keynote lecture by Dr T R Raina, Chief Advisor of IMA Jammu, who explained the benefits of incorporating yoga into daily life.
He spoke about Pranayama, Dhyana, and simple yoga postures, emphasizing how these practices can help reduce stress, boost immunity and bring mental peace.
He also highlighted the spiritual and ethical dimensions of yoga, calling it a complete lifestyle for achieving harmony of body, mind and soul.
Dr D K Manyal, MLA Ramgarh and Patron of IMA Jammu, attended as chief guest and encouraged the public to embrace yoga for better health. He appreciated IMA Jammu for conducting meaningful health-related programs in rural areas.
Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal of ASCOMS and President of IMA Jammu, presided over the function and spoke about the scientific basis of yoga. He said IMA Jammu will continue to conduct such awareness campaigns and health camps for the benefit of the people.
A large number of locals attended the program and actively participated in the interactive session.
Dr Sanjeev Narang, Honorary Secretary of IMA Jammu, said the organization is committed to bridging modern medicine with traditional practices like yoga to build a healthier society.
