JAMMU, Oct 22: Bishnah police today busted illicit liquor distillation hub in village Kotli Charkan.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Bishnah Police Station conducted raid in village Kotli Charkan and busted illicit liquor distillation hub. Around 240 litres of illicit liquor was seized from the spot.
On seeing police cops, three persons including a couple engaged in distillation of illicit liquor identified as Mangal Dass and Kewal Kumar, son of Sardari Lal and Pooja Devi, wife of Kewal Kumar, all residents of Kotli Charka managed to escape from the spot taking the benefit of the paddy fields.
A case under FIR Number 226/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Bishnah Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector PP Singh conducted the raid and seized illicit liquor under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
