Illegal power connections disconnected

JAMMU, July 9: On the directions of MD JPDCL, Yasha Mudgal, Sub-Divisional staff of Gangyal carried out a massive disconnection drive against illegal connections at Trikuta Nagar Extension.
The drive was aimed at to save the newly installed 400 KVA transformer which has been overloaded due to illegal hooking by the locals causing damage to the transformer twice in the last 3 days. Taking serious notice of the discrepancy, the department carried out a massive drive against illegal hooking and found that most of the people in the area have no legal connection.
The illegal service wires were also confiscated during the drive and it was found that many Air Conditioners were running on illegal service wires.
During the drive, the department educated the people regarding the Amnesty Scheme under which the Government has decided to waive off Penalties and Interest levied to the consumer until December 2019.
The overall drive was conducted under the supervision of PD Singh, Executive Engineer, Division-II, Gandhi Nagar JPDCL.
Meanwhile, the inspection team of Electric Sub Division, Ramgarh conducted inspections of Agricultural installations today at village Radwan Khurd. The team removed more than 18 illegal hookings feeding agricultural pump sets near Datti Mandir. The electric wires of these illegal installations were confiscated with the active help of local police. Consumers were advised to use power judiciously and not to resort to illegal use of power.
The inspection team comprised of Abdul Rasheed, J.E., Electric Sub Division Ramgarh, Suresh Choudhary, Puran Lal, Yash Pal, Sat Pal and Som Raj.The inspections were conducted as per the directions of Ajay Choudhary, Officiating AEE Electric Sub Division, Ramgarh.
