RAMBAN, June 21: District Administration Ramban today demolished all the illegal encroachments erected in contradiction to the provisions of law along the National Highway.
The drive was carried out in the presence of DDC M H Malik, SP Ramban and other concerned officers.
The demolition drive started from Ramban town towards Banihal. All the structures erected without obtaining any permission from the concerned authorities were razed from Ramban to Ramsoo.
It was given out that the structures were being used by the defaulters for commercial purposes resulting in unnecessary jamming of heavy traffic on this important road.
DDC informed that all the defaulters were warned and directed to remove the encroachments failing which the District Administration went tough upon all the defaulters so that unnecessary jamming and contraventions of the Ribbon Act can be dealt with in accordance with the rules of law.
