Sir,
The rampant and unchecked illegal constructions in Ganderbal district, particularly along Nallah Sindh is a matter of grave concern. It is disheartening to note that these constructions continue unabated, despite a clear High Court ban and in defiance of environmental regulations.
The rule of law should be paramount, and it is disheartening to witness a lack of enforcement on the ground. These illegal structures not only violate the High Court’s explicit prohibition but also pose a significant threat to the environment and the delicate balance of our ecology.
It is imperative that the concerned authorities take immediate and resolute action against these violations. The excuses of a lack of personnel in this digital age are untenable, and it is high time that the authorities uphold the law and protect our natural resources. The District Administration should be held accountable for its neglect of duty, and stringent measures must be put in place to safeguard our land as per the Court’s mandates.
It is our collective responsibility to ensure the sanctity of our environment and adhere to the rule of law. I urge the authorities to take swift and effective measures to halt these illegal constructions before irreparable damage is done.
