JAMMU, May 8: IIT Jammu provided face shields developed by its students to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Hospital, Kakrayal.
In a bid to fight COVID-19 crisis, Indian Institute of Technology Jammu took this noble initiative with the aim to provide low cost PPEs to Police, Army and other front line warriors. Now IIT Jammu teams are extending their help to the Medical healthcare centres and other institutions in Jammu.
Recently, IIT Jammu team headed by Dean SW Prof Chandan Ghosh, AD Dr Vijay Pal, Medical Officer Dr Neha Sharma and student volunteers (Parmveer and Shubham) visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Hospital to handover the PPE face shields developed by the students of the Institute.
Dr Vijaypal discussed the features and working principles with Ashim Kumar Choudhury, Head-Operations, Col (Dr) Rakesh Chander Sahani, Medical Superintendent & FD, Satish Sharma-Head SCM, Mujeeb, Consultant ICU, Dr Sunil Kotwal and Senior Consultant ENT, Dr Sohail Naski, Consultant Emergency of Narayana hospital.
Prof Chandan Ghosh and Dr Neha told the Narayana team regarding the upcoming developments in Positive-Pressure Respiratory System (PPRS), UV sanitization chambers and some other products which will be handed over to them as soon as they are developed.
