IIT Delhi team offers capacity building to State PCB

JAMMU, Oct 1: A team from Centre of Excellence for Research on Clean Air (CERCA), IIT Delhi comprising Arun Dugal, Prof Sagnik Dey and Hemant Kaushal visited J&K State Pollution Control Board (JKPCB).
The team met JKPCB Chairman, Suresh Chugh and Member Secretary, Brij Mohan Sharma today and discussed improvement of Ambient Air quality in the State.
Among the salient points discussed were implementation of the approved action plan on non-attainment cities of Jammu and Srinagar under National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).
The IIT Delhi team suggested various interventions for successful implementation of the city action plan under NCAP and offered expert help in capacity building for JKPCB and development of emission inventory in coordination with Central University of Jammu which is carrying out source apportionment studies for Jammu city.
IIT team also offered support in development of effective Traffic Management Plan including road carrying capacity studies.
