JAMMU, Feb 10: The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Jammu Alumni Association organized ‘Jammu Jamghat-2025’ to reunite with former students of the institute.
The gathering held at the IIMC Jammu campus was attended by alumni of IIMC Jammu since 2012 in a hybrid format. The alumni shared their memories of IIMC and their experiences of the industry.
The event began with rendition of the Saraswati Vandana by Akshita Wadhwa and Bhawana Chand, students of the Journalism program from the current batch. Gaurav Rawat, a student of Journalism from the 2022-23 batches, delivered welcome address.
Nikhil Nayan, a student of Journalism from the current batch presented a beautiful song and Umesh Singh Bisht, a Digital Media student from the 2022-23 batches shared the significance of the alumni meet. Nikita Kumari, a Journalism student from the 2023-24 batches shared her experience during her studies. Sidharth Maurya, a Journalism student from the current batch engaged the audience with his energetic song performance. Abhishek Tiwari (HJ), Ravikant Kumar (HJ) and Utkarsh Kumar (DM) all from the current batch presented poetry on various intriguing themes.
Adding a celebratory touch, Stuti, a Journalism (English) student along with Janvi Verma, Anuja Jain, and Shruti Pandey, all Digital Media students from the current batch, presented a dance performance depicting the nine-month memorable journey of IIMC. A ramp walk was also organized for the alumni by the current batch and later joined by IIMC alumni, faculty members and MTS staff, filling the atmosphere with joy. The program was moderated by Krishna Gopal Srivastava, a Journalism (Hindi) student from the 2022-23 batches.
Regional Director Dr Dilip Kumar, highlighted the remarkable journeys of alumni and how their hard work has taken them to new heights. Dr Vinit Utpal shared the fulfilling experiences of previous students and their memorable actions. Prof Anil Saumitra offered valuable suggestions for the betterment of future journalists. The vote of thanks was presented by Ambika Rashmi from the 2022-23 batch, expressing appreciation for the collective efforts.
The main pillars in organizing the event were Gaurav Rawat, Abhinav Shrivastava, students of Journalism and Anuja Jain.
On this occasion, Dr Ravinder Singh, Vishv, along with Rajiv Kumar, Gulshan, and Madhusudhan were also present.
