IGP reviews security arrangements ahead of Independence Day

JAMMU, Aug 13: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh convened a meeting with Range DIGs and District SSPs through video conference to take stock of the progress of the security and other allied arrangements being made for the Independence Day celebration.
During meeting, detailed briefing was given by Range DIGs and District SSPs on account of the security arrangements that have been put in place in the run up to 15th August in all district of Jammu Province including Jammu City and border areas.
Detailed deliberations were held on all the points concerning parade contingents, preparation of venue, anti-sabotage checks of the venues, barricading, and traffic arrangement in the City and at the venue, for Independence Day Celebrations. The officers were also directed to take care of security of all places including sub. Division and block level where the national flag will be hoisted.
Singh while expressing his satisfaction over the arrangements being put in place and proposed to be made, asked the officers to work in close coordination with each other and with other district agencies. He asked the officers to step up vigil and security in the District to check any attempt of infiltration, movement of anti-national elements and forestall any ill-conceived plan of terrorists. All the nakas deployed on border roads, NH-44 and other interior highways be put on high alert round the clock.
