JAMMU, July 14: In view of ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Railways J&K Sulaiman Salaria reviewed security scenario along border areas.
IGP accompanied by Suram Singh, SP Railways, Jammu, Pawan Kumar, SDPO Railways Vijaypur and Davinder Singh, SDPO Railways Jammu visited GRP jurisdiction from Police post GRP Bari Brahmna to Kathua for security review.
During the said visit a security review meeting was also held at Railway Station Ghagwal with SDPOs and jurisdictional officers, in which security related important instructions and guidelines were issued to the participants.
They were instructed to deal politely with public especially with the Shri Amarnath yatries, provide them necessary assistance and be firm with regard to their duties.
Moreover, all the participants were reiterated that in view of previous infiltrations on the International Border, acts of sabotage and cross border terrorism at Railway tracks, Railway Stations and running trains cannot be ruled out.
Meanwhile, the second meeting was held at Railway Station Kathua with the jurisdictional officers. The participants were instructed to remain extra alert in their area of responsibility and to keep an eagle eye at Railway tracks, railway stations and in running trains located parallel and in close proximity to the International Border.
The participants were briefed that there is need to remain extra vigilant and alert in their respective jurisdictions and necessary security related directions were issued to all for safety and security of both men and material at Railways Jammu.
All the participants were stressed to perform their duties with zeal and zest and maintain better policing. They were stressed upon to maintain good police public relations.
