HERO Society organizes medical conference on infertility

JAMMU, July 14: HERO Society in association with Dr Sumita Sofat Hospital organized a medical conference and training program on infertility. There was live telecast of Test Tube Baby procedures from the operation theatre to the conference.
The conference was inaugurated by Health Minister of Punjab, Surjit Kumar Jyani. He said that couples who face problem of infertility should not get disheartened but  take treatment from good hospitals with qualified doctors.
Dr Sumita Sofat said that drug addiction is one of the most important causes of rise of infertility in males. Mental stress and pollution have also contributed to this.
Infertility is also on rise in females because of lack of exercise and sedentary life styles.
Dr Partap Kumar, a distinguished infertility specialist from Manipal shared his knowledge of infertility and recent advances with the delegates.
Dr Sudha Prasad, Head of Maulana Azad Medical College, talked about the precautions to be taken after test tube baby.
Dr RS Sharma, Head of ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) talked about registration of IVF centers.
Dr Sumita Sofat said that new techniques like laser hatching and blastocyst culture have increased the success rate of IVF tremendously.
The main aim of this conference was to make all the doctors aware of newer advances in the field of infertility and help infertile couples to achieve their dreams of getting pregnancy.
