JAMMU, June 8: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Railways, Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria reviewed the security arrangements at Jammu Railway Station here today.
SP Railways Shiv Kumar Sharma, SP South Rahul Malik, Commandant IRP 17th Battalion RN Meena, DTM Northern Railways Jammu, Station Superintendent Railway Station Jammu, Major Brajesh Thapyal, (Army), Assistant Commandant CRPF, representatives of CRPF, BSF, all SDPOs of GRP Jammu/Katra, other NGOs of GRP and RPF officers were present on the occasion.
During the meeting, necessary directions were given to SP GRP Jammu to establish a Public Assistance Booth at Railway Station Jammu to facilitate yatries and brief the personnel deployed with regard to dealing with the pilgrims. It was also emphasized to establish joint control room of RPF, Army, CRPF, BSF and GRP at Railway Station Jammu.
All the participants were also directed to chalk out the proper contingency plan in consultation with PMFs, District Police, Railway authorities, RPF, etc for Railway Station Jammu to meet in case of any exigency.
Moreover, all the participants were reiterated that in view of the constant flow of intelligence inputs from sister agencies from time to time there is need to remain extra vigilant and alert in their respective jurisdictions.
SP GRP Jammu was directed to strengthen the access control system at Railway Station Jammu by utilizing proper services of electronic gadgets viz X-ray baggage scanners, HHMDs and DFMDs to thwart any attempt of anti social and anti-national elements.
Necessary directions were given to the officers to develop close and cordial relations amongst various agencies involved in the security of the Railway track, Railway Stations and railway property.
