Srinagar, May 31: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, VK Birdi, today asked for maintaining the highest level of alertness, ensure strong access control, and provide all essential amenities to facilitate a peaceful and spiritually enriching experience for the devotees for the upcoming Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela in Tulmulla.
Speaking to reporters, Birdi said as the Mela is set to begin soon-with the main function scheduled for June 3-comprehensive arrangements have been finalized to ensure a smooth and safe visit for pilgrims from across the Valley.
“People will be arriving from various districts of Kashmir. In this regard, J&K Police, in coordination with paramilitary forces and the Traffic Department, has made all necessary preparations,” he said. Click here to watch video
The IGP emphasized that robust security measures have been ensured so that pilgrims do not face any difficulties. “Arrangements have been thoroughly reviewed by J&K Police, and the security plan will be implemented accordingly,” he added.
IGP was accompanied by Deputy Inspector General, Central Kashmir Range, Rajiv Omprakash Pande; DIG CRPF North, Sudhir Kumar Singh; Senior Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal, Khalil Ahmad Poswal; CO 115 Bn. CRPF, S.K. Pradhan; and SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh.
The IGP directed all senior district officers to maintain the highest level of alertness, ensure strong access control, and provide all essential amenities to facilitate a peaceful and spiritually enriching experience for the devotees.
The visit aimed to comprehensively assess the security and logistical arrangements being put in place for the festival, which is scheduled to be celebrated in the first week of June.
During the visit, the IGP conducted a detailed review of the security setup within and around the temple premises.
He also assessed the traffic and crowd management plans to ensure smooth movement and convenient access for devotees.
Special attention was given to the availability of adequate parking spaces and necessary facilities for pilgrims.
