IGP Jammu reviews arrangements for Police Commemoration Day

JAMMU, Oct 4: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, today chaired a preparatory meeting at Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu to review the arrangements for the National Police Commemoration Day, which will be observed on October 21.
A statement said the meeting discussed preparations for events to be held at Gulshan Ground and the Police Martyrs’ Memorial near Jammu Railway Station.
Detailed deliberations were held on ceremonial proceedings, participation of police contingents, rehearsals, seating and security arrangements, traffic management, and media coordination.
Special focus was also given to welfare measures for the families of police martyrs.
The IGP stressed that Police Commemoration Day is a solemn occasion to pay homage to the supreme sacrifices of police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
He said the event also provides an opportunity to strengthen the bond between the police and the public.
He directed officers to ensure smooth conduct of the programme with dignity and proper coordination.
Senior officers including DIG IRP, DIG Armed, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Commandants of IRP battalions, SSPs of Jammu, Railways, Security, Traffic, Telecommunication, PCR and APCR, along with SPs of City North, City South, Headquarters and Rural Jammu, participated in the meeting. Commandants of SDRF and other police units were also present.
The meeting concluded with instructions for timely completion of all arrangements and close coordination among departments to make the commemoration day a well-organised and respectful tribute to the martyrs.
