UDHAMPUR, July 9: Inspector General of Police (IGP), CRPF Jammu Sector, G J Singh flagged off a tour of youth “Udaan” from the camp premises of 187 Bn Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), here today.
As many as 20 girl students selected from different far flung schools of the district which include Govt. Higher Secondary School, Sudhmahadev and Govt. High School, Dudu- Kirchi along with escort have been sent for “Udaan”.
The IGP disclosed that the tour was arranged by CRPF, Udhampur as a part of CPG Action Plan in order to broaden the vision of students and inculcating in them knowledge and a spirit of nationalism. The students will also act as peace ambassadors of the state and acquaint themselves with the cultural and traditional ethos of other parts of the country, he added.
During a weeklong tour, these students shall be visiting to different historical, cultural , scenic spots and places of educational value at Delhi, Agra and Mathura for which elaborate arrangements have been made by CRPF battalions.
Among others, Deputy Inspector General of Police CRPF North Jammu, S S Dogra, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi range, Jagjit Kumar, Commandant 187 Bn CRPF, Udhampur, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Commandant 137 Bn CRPF, Udhampur, J Mujamdar and other senior officers of CRPF and Civil Administration were present on the occasion.
