“Ignore Rumours; Essential Supplies Adequate, Security Under Constant Review”: Div Com Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Mar 25: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Wednesday dismissed rumours about any possible lockdown, urging people not to panic and to rely only on official sources for information.
Speaking to reporters, he said, “There are many rumours being spread about a lockdown, but there is no such update from the government. If any such decision is taken, it will be officially communicated. I request everyone not to panic. Stocks of essential commodities are being continuously monitored, and their availability and distribution are being ensured.”
He warned against rumour-mongering, stating, “Strict instructions have been issued, and action will be taken against those spreading misinformation. People should rely only on official government handles for authentic updates.”
On the security scenario, he said the situation remains stable and is under continuous review. “There is no change in the security situation. Regular joint reviews are being conducted by the district administration and police. Tourist destinations are being opened, and we are witnessing a significant inflow of visitors,” he said.
Referring to the ongoing tourist season, he added, “After the opening of the Tulip Garden, tourist footfall is being closely monitored throughout the day. We appeal to tourists to visit Kashmir in large numbers during the upcoming spring and summer season.” (KNC)
