JAMMU, Aug 7: Apni Party provincial president Jammu and former Minister Manjit Singh today said that if Apni Party forms the next Government in J&K, it will restore state subject laws for the protection of the constitutional rights of Jammu and Kashmir residents.
Addressing a joining programme at Parmandal block in Samba district, Manjit Singh said that Apni Party is committed for the protection of rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “If people vote us to power, we will restore the state subject in J&K,” he said, addressing the party workers.
While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, he expressed hope that their joining would strengthen the party at the ground level and asked the party workers to work among the people.
The former Minister said, “Generally people are against the traditional political parties especially Congress Party and BJP. These political parties ruled in Centre and J&K for years but they were not able to do justice with the people. However, BJP snatched the special status of J&K and opened jobs, land and natural resources for outsiders, which has become the main source of the feeling of alienation and growing unemployment in J&K.”
He said that the confidence of the people needs to be restored by holding early Assembly elections so that an elected Government can replace the dominance of bureaucracy and hold them accountable for their wrong doings.
“The Apni Party believes in equitable development of all the regions and the rural belt. We are committed to the protection of the constitutional rights of the people of J&K,” he said and demanded the restoration of statehood.
