JAMMU, Dec 22: Institution of Electronics and Telecommu-nication Engineers (IETE), Jammu centre today celebrated its 63rd foundation day in a simple but impressive function organised at its Jammu office at Sunder Nagar, Talab Tillo.
Dr Rakesh Vaid, Chairman, Jammu centre presided over the function whereas Joy Ganjoo, immediate past chairman, IETE Jammu centre, was the guest of honour.
The theme of today’s function was “Cyber Security: Threats and Imperatives”. In his inaugural address, Dr Rakesh Vaid, introduced the topic and threw light on the concept of theme. A panel discussion on the topics: Digital India and cashless society and its linkage with this year’s theme was also held in which all the members actively participated.
Joy Ganjoo talked on “Latest Trends in Emerging Technologies”. In his talk he covered many useful technologies with special focus on solar power and LEDs. Dr Parveen Lehana, Hon Secretary of the IETE Jammu centre read the message received from the President IETE, New Delhi on this year’s theme.
