IDPD team flagged off for help to flood victims

JAMMU, Sept 30: Doctors and paramedical staff of Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) reached Srinagar with relief material and medical stores to help the people in various flood ravaged localities.
The team was flagged off by DK Batra, Joint Secretary and Dr RP Kudyar, Director Principal ASCOMS in presence of Dr SS Soodan, Director Medical ASCOMS and Senior Vice President IDPD.
The group includes eminent doctors of country such as Dr Satyajit Singh, Dr Shakeel, Dr Arun Kumar Handa and is led by Dr Arun Mitra, general secretary IDPD.
They will coordinate with Helpage India and move to the affected areas to distribute relief material and assist in medical relief and prevention of epidemics.
These doctors will also remain associated with the field health facility established by ASCOMS Hospital Jammu at Yatri Niwas, Shree Sanatan Dharam Partap Sabha, Lal Chowk, Srinagar.
Dr GM Mallik, retd Prof Medicine and Incharge IDPD Kashmir will remain as the nodal officer for this relief work.
Meanwhile, Rotary Club Jammu Aastha distributed 45 gas lights to the flood victims of Sure Chack. President Amit Gupta along with RS Goel, Surinder Bansal, Ajay Aggarwal, Sahil Chopra, Vipan Bhasin, Sunita Bansal and Koushalya Aggarwal were also present on the occasion.
