JAMMU, Nov 28: Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) staged Dogri adaptation of William Shakespeare’s world famous tragedy play ‘Macbeth: the Crown of Blood’ by Nataraj Natya Kunj.
The play was directed by Abhishek Bharti in collaboration with Sher-i-Kashmiri University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology (SKUAST) at Baba Jitto Auditorium, SKUAST Chatha under its ‘Horizon Series’.
The programme began with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the chief guest Dr. K.S Risam, Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu along with guest of honour Prof. R.K Sinha and other notables present there.
The chief guest, guest of honour and artists were cordially felicitated with presentation of bouquet by the Regional Director, ICCR Jammu.
Welcoming the guests, N.K Shil, Regional Director, ICCR and Regional Passport Officer, Jammu said, ICCR is a cultural wing of MEA which seeks to enhance India’s soft diplomatic power worldwide and boost India’s skills of cultural diplomacy as well as bring India and other countries and their people together through cultural and educational initiatives/ exchanges.
Artists who performed in the play were Lalit Sharma, Abhishek Sharma, Akshay Razdan, Aman Sharma, Mukesh Bakshi, Niharika Sakshi, Kanav Sharma, Priya Sharma, Anshika Sharma and Hema Shivgotra.
