We are more into set structure of dance based programmes and never venture to promote new innovations in dance presentations. In an era of globalization our artists are fully exposed to the new emerging trends in performance and presentations of dances. Modern dance is often considered to have emerged as a rejection of, or rebellion against classical ballet Socioeconomic and cultural factors also contributed to its development.
The opening presentation entitled beyond traditions was a mix of so many global trends like hip hop, salsa and acrobatic performances. Amazingly the visual imagery choreographed by the young innovators and their energy received standing ovation of the audiences. This followed a presentation of the journey of tradition to contemporary, underlining the present day influence on traditional dancing of Bollywood and Hollywood.
The artist who participated in this programme included Deepak Kumar, Deepali Sharma, Mona Verma, Khushi, Ankush Bhasin, Amit Sharma, Arjun Rajput, Shaker Anand, Deepak Gupta, Rocky Verma, Umesh Kumar and Asha Kotwal.
