JAMMU, Dec 10: ICCR Jammu is going to showcase a programme of international folk music featuring the world fame singer Fraida Praveen of Bangladesh.
Giving details the Regional Director of ICCR Jammu Balwant Thakur while addressing the media at Jammu headquarters informed here today said that in it’s endeavour to bring world to India, particularly to Jammu, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, (ICCR) Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India is bringing a group from Bangladesh to Jammu for its performance soon on December14.
He informed this will be the sixth International group of artists visiting Jammu for their performance ever since the establishment of ICCR Office in Jammu. Earlier groups from Zambia, Republic of Laos, Poland, Malaysia and Spain have successfully given their mind-blowing performances in Jammu.
The performance of the artists from Bangladesh has been fixed to be held at Matrika Auditorium, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University for December 15, 2015 at 6 pm. Balwant Thakur complimented Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University for extending full cooperation and support for hosting this International event.
The visiting International artist Farida Parveen is one of the most popular vocal musicians in Bangladesh. She is a leading exponent of Lalon songs that makes her unique in that country. Mrs. Parveen’s musical rendering combines artistic talent and graceful presentation. She has travelled to many countries, such as India, Pakistan, Japan, UK, USA, France, Russia, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, Qatar, Morocco, Turkey etc. She was awarded ‘Ekushe Medal’, the highest award of the Government of Bangladesh and the Best Singer ‘National Film Award’ for her musical talents.
