ICCR bringing artist from Germany to Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 18: Indian Council for Cultural Relations in association with J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, is going to organize a performance by an artist of Germany at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu on Sunday, 21st of August, 2016 at 6 pm.
This was informed here today by the Regional Director of ICCR Jammu in a press briefing at ICCR Regional Headquarters Jammu. Giving details, Balwant Thakur informed that Bee Seavers will present a Santoor recital at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu instead of showcasing the music of Germany.
Introducing the musical journey of Bee Seavers of Germany, Balwant Thakur further briefed that the artist Bee Seavers is recognized as a world renowned musician. Bee Seavers’s carrier started as Jazz musician in 1965 till 1978 in the USA. Since 1979 he learned the ancient instrument Santoor from India. As a master disciple of Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, soon he became Europe‘s most distinguished musician on Santoor and expert of North Indian Classical Music. He is decorated with different awards including the ‘Roshan Ara Begum Award’, the highest decoration in Pakistan for outstanding musicians.
While keep on lecturing as Musicologist, he followed many invitations round the world for playing concerts. Since 2001 he started working as scriptwriter.
Studied Musicology, Philosophy and Languages Science at the University of Hamburg, UCLA and Columbia University (USA), Bee was also honored as German Ambassador for cultural music relation between India and Germany by the Goethe Institute (Max Mueller Bhavan).
In 2002, he published his first theater script, entitled ‘ The indecency of Time’ (genre: comedy). In 2006 he published his first novel `Soul of Truth` (genre: drama/thriller/530 pages), a story based in India`s Bollywood in 1950. In 2015 he wrote and directed his first short movie (title: The road to the Highschool Graduation of Meriam Lee) (genre: Family movie). In the same year he finished his first screenplay for a feature movie, entitled ‘Shades of Fame` (genre: drama/thriller), written for the famous Hollywood Director Chandran Rutnam from Colombo Sri Lanka. Currently he lives with his family in Germany and Sri Lanka.
