Jammu, Oct 5: International Centre for Cross- Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM) today organized an industrial visit for the students of MBA International Business (MBA-IB). These students visited Intex Industries and Shalimar Floorings Pvt Ltd located at SIDCO Industrial Estate, Bari Brahmana, to get the first hand appraisal of the working of manufacturing sector.
The visit to these industries started with an initial round of briefing to the students about the companies profile, achievements and their infrastructural facilities.
At Intex Industries the students were given in depth knowledge about the manufacturing of woofer systems and multimedia speakers. They learnt about 5-level assembly-line production system. The students were escorted to the different processing/assembly units by the respective Unit Managers. The students got an opportunity to interact with the engineers and technical staff and learnt about the work culture and various functional areas like manufacturing, quality control, supply chain, logistics and other major operations of the company.
At Shalimar Floorings Pvt. Ltd. students gained knowledge about manufacturing of carpets and rugs and got an overview of exclusive carpet designing and manufacturing techniques, J&K State is acknowledged for. Shalimar Carpets export, supply and create finest quality hand tufted carpets and modern rugs. The staff at Shalimar Carpets shared that they are amongst the leading manufacturers and exporters of the industry, who are known for innovation and impeccable quality.
According to Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Director of International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR &HRM), the industrial visit aimed at seeking exposure at the local setup to generate awareness about the potential and opportunities available within the region, so as to cultivate interest in entrepreneurial activity in the students pursuing MBA-IB programme.
Annil Suri, President Bari Brahmana Industrial Association has also appreciated the initiative. Dr. Ridhi Sharma and Dr. Shafqat Ajaz, faculty members of International Centre for Cross- Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM) coordinated the visit.
