ICccR & HRM in JU organizes industrial visit of MBA students

JAMMU, Mar 26: International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, organized a two day industrial visit of MBA (Semester IV) students to Gurgaon-New Delhi Industrial Corridor.
The industrial visit was organized to Hero Moto Corp Ltd Dharuhera (Haryana), Maruti Limited, (Gurgaon) and Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University, presently stationed at Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA, Gurgaon).
The visit to Hero Motor Corporation that is placed with more than 6000 workers, helped students to understand various managerial concepts such as production, assembly line working, economies of scale, labour management, industrial engineering, Total Quality Management, KANBAN and processes like KAIZEN.
The mentoring on these production specific issues was carried by P H Singh, Plant HR Head, Vineet Swaroop Saxena, Assistant General Manager, Paint Shop and Vijay Solanki, Assistant Manager HR. The students were also acquainted with the academia-industry training model of GURUKUL-Hero Training Academy that is located within the Hero Motor Corporation, Dharuhera-Haryana.
The visit to Jai Bharat Maruti Limited, MSIL Joint Venture, Gurgaon was backed by the objective of apprising students with the working of robotics on assembly line and usage of lean manufacturing for producing auto components. The students on shop floor were also deliberated on concepts such as supply chain management, logistics management, management science, management engineering, ergonomics and safety engineering. The visit was facilitated by Rajeev Sharma, General Manager-Head Skill Development, JBM Ltd.
The visit to Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University, Dudhola-Palwal, enabled the students to align their vision with national skilling framework. The students were acquainted to assess and align their aspirations with the national skilling initiative undertaken by the Government of India for building careers with strong employment generation potential. The discussion was headed by Ravi Sinha, Deputy Director, Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University and Ex- General Manager Hero Honda Motor Corporation. It was followed by the lecture on core HRD areas of organisations namely, sensitivity trainings, conflict management, workplace climate mapping, industrial arbitration and people intelligence networking and OD interventions. The students also underwent mock interviews and personality mapping.
Professor Deepak Raj Gupta, Director, ICccR & HRM, expressed desire to translate the academia-industry networking into a permanent form of International Business pedagogy. Dr Isha Sharma, Assistant Professor, ICccR & HRM, led the Industrial Visit.
