JAMMU, Feb 15: International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu, has entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of South Pacific, Fiji.
As ICccR & HRM, caters to programmes like MBA (International Business), Post Graduate Diploma in Composite Culture Management and PhD in International Business, the MoU shall provide students and faculty, a rich global perspective, exposure to international teaching pedagogy and research methods that would foster intercultural skill development and acquisition of global academic skills.
The broad intent of the MoU is to foster collaboration and enhance educational opportunities, research and innovation, promote cultural exchange, and strengthen the reputation of both the academic varsities. The University of the South Pacific Fiji (USP) that was founded in 1968 is a global brand. USP has strong international relations, world-class research and, most importantly, over 30 years’ experience in creating internationally accredited programmes and courses through various modes and technologies which are deployed throughout 14 campuses located in 14 different countries in Pacific Region, thereby enabling University of Jammu to share, connect and leverage global outreach with the University of the South Pacific, Fiji across 14 countries.
The mutual areas of collaboration in MoU shall be in the areas of Faculty Exchange, Joint Research Activities, Visiting/ Adjunct Faculty, Training Programmes for Students, Exchange of Academic Material, Curriculum Development, Student Exchange and Academic Mentorship.
It is pertinent to mention that the maiden joint research activity has already been shaped up in the form of International Conference on Innovation and Sustainability in Business Development (Feb 22-24, 2024), jointly organized by the department of ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu & The University of the South Pacific, Fiji.
In presence of JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Umesh Rai, JU Registrar Prof Rahul Gupta and Prof Gurmeet Singh, Deputy Vice Chancellor & President of the University of South Pacific, Laucala, Suva, Fiji, signed the MoU.
