JAMMU, July 3: A State level joint review meeting of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Regional Committee for the State of Jammu and Kashmir was held at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST Jammu), today.
The meeting took place to take stock of the action taken report to action points recommendations of the 23rd meeting of the ICAR Regional Committee held at Dheradun in June-2014.
In the meeting, the scientists from the ICAR, SKUAST-Jammu, SKUAST-Kashmir and officers of the Agricultural, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Fisheries and Sericulture Departments participated.
Dr PK Mishra, Director Indian Institute of Soil Water Conservation Dheradun, who is the member secretary of Regional Committee-I for J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand deliberated on the recommendations of previous Regional Committee Meeting and the action taken by the stakeholders of the development departments, agricultural universities of the State and the ICAR institutes in implementing the recommendations.
Dr JP Sharma Director Research SKUAST-J; Dr Shafeeq Wani Director Research SKUAST-K and Dr Hafefa Kamli, Director Extension SKUAST-K; Dr SMR Naqvi, Director Central Sheep & Wool Research Institute Rajasthan and Dr RM Bhagat, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture SKUAST-J, were present in the meeting.
Action taken by different stakeholders was reviewed in the meeting and it was finalized that action points to be focused by the universities of the State and State agriculture and allied departments be submitted for the forthcoming 24th Regional Committee Meeting of J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand in 2016.
