JAMMU, May 26: The Jammu & Kashmir Branch of the Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today organized a “One Day Training Programme for Peer Reviewers” at ICAI Bhawan.
Organized under the aegis of the Peer Review Board of ICAI, the 6-CPE hour event witnessed enthusiastic participation from members aiming to enhance their audit quality and compliance standards.
The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Amit Gupta, Chairman, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries and participants.
He highlighted the critical role of the peer review mechanism in maintaining the integrity and quality of assurance services.
Gupta further stressed that a robust peer review framework elevates the profession’s public standing & also instills greater confidence among stakeholders.
The technical sessions were steered by highly distinguished faculty members Raj Chawla and Shalini Gupta.
Their comprehensive deliberations provided actionable insights and real-life perspectives on several critical areas of professional practice, included, rationale & significance of Peer Review, review Procedures & Reporting by Peer Reviewers, including the importance of the Audit Quality Maturity Model (AQMM), compliance with Quality Control Frameworks, covering both General & Specific Controls and strict Adherence to Technical Professional Standards, Audit Documentation and Ethical Standards.
The programme was smoothly moderated by Ayush Sawhney and was concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Sourav Pargal (Immediate Past Chairman).
The training programme proved to be highly informative, reaffirming the J&K Branch’s strong commitment to the capacity building and continuous professional development of its members.
