JAMMU, July 2: The J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated its 70th CA Foundation Day.
CA Sat Sharma (MLA) was the chief guest on the occasion, where ICAI organized various activities such as flag hoisting, blood donation camp, plantation drive, health check up by Awaaz Foundation and Zumba dance by Natraj Studio.
The branch in association with Natraj Studio gave fitness challenge to their members under “Hum Fit Toh India Fit” initiative and a large number of members enthusiastically accepted the challenge.
Later, a large number of Chartered Accountants and CA students participated overwhelmingly and donated their blood at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road, Jammu in collaboration with the Department of Blood Transfusion and JKSACS. Team of doctors and experts from “Awaz Foundation” conducted various medical tests and also distributed medical kits amongst members.
A family get together was also organized wherein apart from holding fun filled activities, senior members and newly qualified Chartered Accountants of the branch were also felicitated by Sat Sharma (MLA) on the occasion.
CA Ajay Gupta, chairman, J&K Branch in his welcome address, urged the members to once again pledge their allegiance to this great profession and rededicate themselves to its services as well as the lofty ideals put forth by those who went before them.
Later, during the program, J&K Branch also awarded “Late CA RC Gupta Memorial” award, “Late Sudesh Sawhney Memorial Award”, “Late Omesh Gupta Memorial Award”, “Late Vinod Gupta Memorial Award and “Late GD Gupta Memorial Award,” to the meritorious students of CA final examination 2018.
CA Anish Abrol, secretary, J&K Branch of ICAI, conducted the proceedings of the programme. CA Shalay Razdan, (vice chairman), CA Jatinder Jaiswal (treasurer), CA Ashwani Khajuria (executive member) along with a large number of CAs, students and their families took part in the celebrations.
