IAS aspirants

Sir,
This has reference to the article “Hurdles for rural aspirants’ DE Jan 8.
The Union Public Service Commission should not summarily reject the demands put forth by the IAS aspirants. If the new scheme of examination is hurting the students with rural background the most, then there is need to re-examine the examination system. It may be underscored here that the students living in rural areas do not have access to quality education even after so many years of independence. They do not have access to coaching centres as have their counterparts in urban areas. Those rural students who have qualified IAS in past have either been genius or they had opportunities to good education. That is not the case with all students. Most of candidates even do not have financial support to carry on their education.
Besides, the author of the article has apprehended that the proposed scheme may widen rural, urban divide, a development  which may not suit emerging India in the  coming times.
The UPSC may, therefore, once again consider the demands of IAS aspirants seriously.
Yours etc…
