NEW DELHI, June 14: A team of Indian Air Force, Indian Army and Arunachal Pradesh Government mountaineers on Friday retrieved the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) of the AN-32 transport aircraft that crashed near Lipo in Arunachal Pradesh on June 3, killing 13 people onboard.
“The Cockpit Voice Recorder ( CVR) and Flight Data Recorder ( FDR) has been recovered by rescue team at crash site today,” Shillong-based defence PRO Ratnakar Singh said.
In common parlance, it is called black box which helps in providing clues of the air crash.
The officer also said that the process of recovering the mortal remains of all air warriors is still on at the crash site by the rescue team. However, the weather continues to be marginal and is affecting the pace of recovery.
“All efforts are being made to expeditiously complete the task using all resources of Civil, Army and IAF,” he added. (UNI)
