I D Soni’s book ‘Anecdotes that Inspire’ released

JAMMU, July 6: I D Soni’s book “Anecdotes that Inspire” was released here today by Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan,
The 280-page bi-lingual book is unique in many ways. Apart from the historic, religious and social anecdotes which have meaningful and constructive messages for youth on currently lost values, the book also contains inspiring saga of legendary figures of yesteryears like great philosophers, saints, seers, sufis etc and holy scriptures of different religions that focus on harmony, peaceful co-existence and moral values.
Since Mr Soni has served the Education sector with passion, rare commitment and unparalleled sincerity for more than 70 years, he has dwelt upon the type of education-formal, informal and non-formal, needed for the present youth along with the role of parents, peer groups and teachers.
Releasing the book, the Advisor described the book written in English and Hindi as a “master piece” that portrays the unparalleled multifarious qualities of head and heart and tremendous energy that Mr Soni possesses. Talking about the significance of the anecdotes recorded in the book, he said that a child who grows up immersed in sagas and anecdotes of his rich culture and civilization bound to grows differently as a responsible citizen than the one who does not have access to these treasures at impressionable age.
Prof Lalit Magotra, President of Dogri Sanstha Jammu, who presided over the book release function, described the book as exceptionally useful document, not only for students but for everyone as it contains very briefly but forcefully the message of humanity, equality, simplicity, honesty and sincerity which Mr Soni himself perused in his life.
Ahmad Shanas gave the critical review of the book and said that by all counts, this is one of best books that could be prescribed for the present day youth.
K B Jandial fondly referred to Soni’s intellectual fervor, knowledge, mesmerizing oratory and humility and said that he is the real ‘Dogra Rattan’. Brigadier S Harcharan Singh, Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman and Sohail Kazmi also spoke on the occasion.
I D Soni said that the main aim behind bringing out this paperback was to guide its readers deal with life’s challenges by deriving positivity even from negative occurrences and developing themselves intellectually so that they may contribute constructively to the society.
A number of literary personalities, heads of social organizations and prominent citizens graced the occasion.
