Hyderabad suspect held in Ramban

JAMMU, Feb 26: Police today detained a suspect of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh in Ramban town on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway where he was found moving under mysterious circumstances.
He has been identified as Mohammad Salah-ud-Din, a resident of Fateh Darwaza, Hyderabad City.
Police said it would be premature to link Salah-ud-Din with militancy or recent twin blasts in Hyderabad but added that he was being questioned as he had visited Srinagar also and couldn’t explain the motive of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Police have found a passport in possession of the suspect.
“The suspect was giving contradictory statements, which has further aroused doubt about him’’, police said, adding his sustained interrogation would indicated whether he was linked to militancy or not.
Sixteen persons were killed and over 100 injured in twin blasts at Hyderabad last week, which have so far been attributed to Indian Mujahideen.
