Hunger strike for OROP to para military personnel enters 26th day

JAMMU, Oct 6: Ongoing chain hunger strike by the members of All J&K Central Para Military Force Welfare Association, for   One Rank One Pension to them,  today entered into 26th consecutive day.
The agitating  Association is demanding all the facilities to the Para Military Force pensioners on the pattern of  Defence Force personnel.
While addressing the protesting members, who  are observing a relay hunger strike at Hari Singh Park on the bank of Tawi river, the Association leaders strongly criticized the BJP-led Central Government for ignoring the services and sacrifices of Central Para Military Forces.
Demanding One Rank One Pension for them, they lamented that pension of Defence personnel was revised four times during the last two years whereas the pension of Ex Central Para Military  force soldiers was not revised even once during this period.
They also demanded increase in Medical Allowance, CSD and other facilities to the Para Military Force personnel besides establishment of Ard Sainik Welfare Board .
Comrade Sukhdev Singh, S Rajinder Singh and other addressed the protesting members, who vowed to continue their struggle to the logical conclusion.
“Despite our repeated requests and representations to the Central Government through its ministers, there has been no response on our demands,” they lamented and urged all the members of Para Military Force Welfare Association to remain prepared for a united struggle  to get their due right.
