JAMMU, May 12: Hundreds of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged the Swami Mirzakak Asthapan Nagrota where annual Jag of this mystic saint of Kashmir was performed today.
The devotees, besides paying obeisance to the Swami Ji participated in the Bhajan Kirtan.
On this occasion the religious discourses were given by Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsangh Ashram Muthi who threw light on the mysticism and spiritual life of Swami Mirzakak who had made a prophecy that the tyrannical Pathan rule in Kashmir will end soon and it will be replaced by Sikh rule.
The Kashmiris had suffered a lot at the hands of Afghan rulers during medieval period and people were sick of it and wanted to get rid of the same. Swami Ji who could not tolerate the atrocities being committed on innocent people of Valley by the tyrant Afghan rulers made a prophecy and the same is documented in Swami Ji’s Vaakhs.
He said the Swami Ji kept the Kashmir’s Vaakh Parampara alive after Lal Ded and other saints whose theme is detachment from worldly things and surrender to God.
He said Swami Mirzakak who led a simple life had performed many miracles during his life time through his spiritual power and he treated people from all faiths alike.
The devotees paid flower tributes at Swami Ji’s Asthapan Nagrota where a Maha Yagya as usual was also performed. The Hawan started yesterday evening and it concluded with Puranahuti this after noon after which the devotees were served with prashad.
The function was organized by Swami Mirzakak Trust Hangalgund camp Jammu. It may be recalled after the mass exodus of Pandits from Valley the annual Jag and Jaynti of Swami Ji is performed at his Nagrota Ashram by the devotees every year.
The function was also held at Swami Ji’s Smadhi at Hangalgund in South Kashmir district of Anantnag today where the large number of Pandit employees posted in Valley participated. A Hawan was also performed there which culminated with serving of prashad to devotees.
