Hundreds of devotees throng Swami Mirzakak Asthapan Nagrota

JAMMU, May 3: Hundreds of devotees thronged Mirzakak Ji Asthapan at Nagrota to participate in the 288th Jag of Swami Mirzakak Ji a mystic saint of medieval Kashmir who was popularly known as Kak Sahib.
On the occasion, a Maha Yagya was also solemnized at Nagrota Ashram of the Swami Ji as well as the Samadhi of Swami Ji at village Hangalgund in South Kashmir district of Anantnag.
The devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu participated in Jag at Nagrota Asthapan where the day long bhajan Kirtan and religious discourses were held. The devotees were served Prashad after Puran Ahuti of hawan. The devotees offered flowers as well as milk at the Asthapan of Swami Ji to invoke his blessings. They also offered prayers for world peace.
Swami Ji a mystic saint had made many prophecies during his life time and one of his prophecy spelled a doom for the Afghan rulers of Kashmir at that time as it proved true with the invasion of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in Kashmir and defeat of tyrant Afghan ruler who had to leave Kashmir once for all.
Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi and other scholars gave religious discourses and threw light on the spiritual life of Swami Mirzakak. The Asthapan at Nagrota established over two decades back by Kashmiri Pandits is the replica of Swami Ji’s Samadhi at Hangalgund and it has become a place of attraction of devotees since then.
Speaking on the occasion, BL Hangloo president of Swami Mirzakak Trust and its general secretary A K Raina who organized the function said a grand temple has been constructed in the Asthapan premises in which the Shivlingam and the idols of Goddess were installed recently.
At the original Samadhi Hangalgund a hawan was also performed by the PM package employees putting up at Vessu, Mattan and other places under the leadership of Sunny Raina. A large number of Kashmiri Pandits and PM package employees attended the function and paid obeisance to Swami Ji. Later they were served with prashad after Puranahuti.
