Hunar Haat ambassador of Atmanirbhar Bharat: Naqvi

NEW DELHI, Dec 23:
Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday said that Hunar Haat has become the brand ambassador for Atmanirbhar Bharat and it is playing a significant role to meet the Prime Minister’s vision of “Vocal for Local”.
“The Modi Government has not only protected the country’s legacy of art and craftsmanship, it has also provided new energy and market and opportunities to indigenous products,” Naqvi said, after inaugurating the 35th Hunar Haat.
Also present were Union Minister for Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav, Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Union Minister of Culture Meenakshi Lekhi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here.
The Minister said Hunar Haat is the best place for the protection, preservation and promotion of India’s heritage and culture. Naqvi said more than 750,000 artisans, craftsmen and people have been provided employment and self-employment opportunities through “Hunar Haat” in the last about six years.
More than 40 per cent of them were women. Lekhi said it was the duty of every citizen to make India self?reliant. More than 700 artisans and craftsmen from more than 30 States and Union Territories are taking part in the 14-day event.
Minister for Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “mantra” of “Vocal for Local ” has encouraged and promoted India’s traditional and ancestral legacy through Hunar Haat. (UNI)
