JAMMU, Nov 23: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu today kick-started its 1st HR Conclave with six power-packed panel discussions, spread over two days.
The inaugural session of the mega event was held amidst the presence of eminent HR personalities from the business world. Parvez Ahmed, Chairman and CEO, J&K Bank was chief guest on the occasion. The session was presided over by Prof B S Sahay, along with the guests of honour Kamal Nath, CEO, Sify Technologies and Jaya Goyal, Member, MEPSC.
In the inaugural address, Parvez Ahmed branded the occasion as the beginning of a strong relationship between IIM Jammu and the J&K Bank which strive together for the welfare of the State. Saying that human capital is the most important asset for any organisation, Mr Parvez underscored the importance of striking a right balance between men and decisions in today’s organisations.
Prof B S Sahay presented his vision of making IIM Jammu one of the finest business schools in the world and appealed to all the industry leaders to contribute to this vision.
Kamal Nath enlightened the students about the subtle differences between digitisation, digitalisation and digital transformation and how HR gets affected by the digital transformation. Jaya Goyal pressed on the need to work on human capital management in order to achieve organisational growth. Prof Rajat Sharma, Associate Professor, Marketing Area, delivered the vote of thanks.
The 1st Panel Discussion was held on the theme “Technological Disruptions and Organisational Communication”. The panel was moderated by Adhiraj Dey, VP-HR, Blue Omnichannel. The second panel discussion on the topic, “Disruption in Organisational Capabilities: Rethinking HR Structures” focussed on identifying the new ways of structuring how people function in organizations. The session was moderated by Ankush Minocha, Head of Large Media Account Presales, Offshore Client Partner, Wipro. Members of the panel include Dr Vijay Singh Shekhawat, GM-HR, RBI, Shilpi Saxena, HR-Head, Kurlon, Abhay Kapoor, Sr HR Leader, North India Operations, Amazon India.
Third panel discussion of the Conclave was held on the theme “Innovative HR: Bridging gap between Gen X and Gen Y” graced by six panellists and moderated by Jaya Goyal, Member, MEPSC.
