JAMMU, Sept 26: A deputation of Hardware, Paints and Sanitary Dealers’ Association (HPSDA) today met Additional Commissioner (AD) Sales Tax, Jammu, Rifat Kohli and apprised her about the problems faced by trade fraternity.
The deputation members discussed with the AD the issue of entry of the material through private vehicles/buses/railways into the State which goes unchecked, resulting into loss to the exchequer of the State. Undervalue material which comes into the State through fake billing was also discussed in the meeting as the material purchased by our genuine traders is always at the higher side than some material being sold by the outsiders comparatively at lower rates.
The Association requested the AD to issue a Helpline number so that they can update traders about day today development and notifications issued by the department.
The Additional Commissioner assured full cooperation to the traders from the department.
Neeraj Gupta (president, HPSDA), Naresh Chopra (senior vice president, Naresh Chopra), Varun Sharma (vice- president), Subhash Nanda (general secretary), Vishal Bhat (treasurer) and Sanjay Pandita (publicity incharge) were also part of the deputation.
