People, traders and most probably the administrative endowments in State are now increasingly feeling the pinch of the denial of internet facility for over 100 days continuously . In an era of digitalization and fastest communication, an embargo and a ban on the use of internet facility is nothing less than an act of injustice , perhaps bordering at torturing the people affecting adversely trade and commerce and even revenue collections have dipped considerably in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir . How much botheration, wastage of time and energy besides causing avoidable tension to traders shall result in the wake of being asked by the Government to line up at respective offices of Deputy Commissioners for filing GST returns ? Their pent up feelings and indignation notwithstanding, shall the same order be implemented for tourism related activities, the backbone of the economy of the state?
The other face of this ban is that the service providers especially the BSNL are charging full amount from the subscribers even in the absence of internet facilities. Could the Government arrange to refund the charges of the internet included in the packages of service providers to the subscribers is what most of the worried and angry people ask. It is high time , the Government reviewed its decision to deny internet to the people of this Union Territory, at least why should Jammu suffer so long.
