JAMMU, Sept 23: A housewife allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze in Prithipur area, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib Police Station.
As per police sources, 25-year-old Meenu, wife of Raj Kumar, a resident of Prithipur allegedly poured some inflammable substance and set herself ablaze.
The lady was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to her injuries.
The body of the victim has been shifted to mortuary of GMCH for autopsy, which will be conducted tomorrow.
Miran Sahib police has taken cognizance in this regard.
