UDHAMPUR, May 9: A young housewife attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at her house in village Jib while six persons were injured in two separate road accidents, here today.
According to the police reports, Poli Devi (36), wife of Rattan Lal of Jib, consumed some poisonous substance. The family members shifted her to District Hospital Udhampur.
Cause behind provocation could not be ascertained while Police had registered the case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, five persons of as family were injured when an Alto car bearing registration number JK02L-6070, rolled down into a deep gorge at village Nanansu near Sulghar. The car was on way from Ghordi to Udhampur when it met with the accident. Locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur.
The injured were identified as Sham Lal (33), son of Kaka Ram of Tanhal, Kaka Ram (66), son of Indru, Gayatri Devi (50) wife of Kaka Ram, Bivani Devi (5) Daughter of Shamshar Singh, Sunil Kumar (6) son of Sham Lal all of Tanhal.
In another road accident, a Motorcyclist was injured when his bike skidded off the road near ITI while going from Sailan Talab towards Ramnagar Chowk Udhampur. The injured was identified as Rahul, son of Premi Chand of Jakhani. He has been admitted in District Hospital Udhampur.
