SAMBA, Jan 1: A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Ward Number 8, here.
As per police sources, a woman identified as Palvi Gupta, wife of Abhishek Badyal allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her in-laws house in Ward Number 8 here. Her body was found hanging with fan hook in the store room.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the body of the woman to District Hospital Samba.
After conducting medical examination, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Samba Police and lady’s husband Abhishek Badyal has been detained.
Meanwhile, parents and relatives of the woman held protest and demanded exemplary punishment for Abhishek Badyal and his family.
“We want justice as Palvi Gupta has been killed by Abhishek Badyal and his family”, said the protestors.
Police team also reached the spot and assured fair enquiry into the incident. On the assurance, the protestors dispersed.
