JAMMU, Jan 9: Both Houses of State Legislature today paid tributes to former Legislator, Mohammad Akhtar Nizami who passed away recently.
In the Legislative Assembly, Speaker Kavinder Gupta highlighted the role and contribution of the deceased former legislator in the State’s social and political arena.
In the Legislative Council, Chairman Haji Anayat Ali moved obituary reference on the sad demise of ex-MLA Akhtar Nizami.
Recording the services of late leader, the Chairman said that Nizami was a seasoned parliamentarian. The late leader always fought for public causes and worked for the welfare of people.
Both the Houses observed two minutes silence to pay homage to the departed soul.
