House gutted in Loran area

POONCH, Nov 8: Four storey residential wooden house was gutted in an overnight fire incident at Dar-gam Sibh area of Loran in Poonch district.
Family members and locals said that the incident was suddenly occured, most probably due to electric short circuit at about 2:30 AM, after which family members including children managed to come out, but the house was gutted along with goods inside and turned into ashes, resulting loss of lakhs of rupees.
Soon after the incident, locals following army and police tried to extinguish the fire without any compatible source, but the house turned into ashes till it was controlled to some extent, and other houses around were saved. Later, JCB Machine did the left over work to extinguish fire completely in the morning.
Officials said that three families were residing in this house, and the head of the family members were identified as Bashir Ahmed, Nazir Ahmed, sons of Rehmana Dar, and Haja Begum, wife of Late Ghulam Nabi, resident of Dargam Sibh in Loran block of Mandi, Poonch.
Locals expressed anguish over the dilapidated condition of Sibh road, due to which fire and emergency services was not able to reach on spot.
Executive magistrate Mandi, Shahzad Latief Khan visited spot and provided Rs 30,000 from Red Cross fund as financial assistance and told to take up the case under SDRF scheme.
