POONCH, Jan 2: A residential Kachha house was gutted in a fire incident at Banwat village in district Poonch last night.
Official sources said that soon after the incident locals of the area started extinguishing fire at their own by pouring water with buckets and other pots. Later, police also reached the spot. The Fire & Emergency Services authorities were intimated but the tender could not reach up to the site due to the lack of proper road.
The house had badly damaged before the arrival of fire tender there near the site.
The family members said that all the household items were burnt in the incident resulting loss worth lakhs. The locals alleged that due to non- availability of road, the Fire tender could not reach today and the people of the area are suffering badly since long.
House owner Mohd Shadiq, son of Mithu, said that cause of fire could not be known. He has demanded financial help from the District Administration. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
