Hotel manager among 14 held with Rs 4.06 lakh stake money

JAMMU, Oct 2: Police arrested 14 gamblers including a hotel manager along with Rs 4.06 lakh stake money and playing cards from a hotel at Shaheedi Chowk. A pistol and live cartridges were also recovered from the possession of one of the gambler.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from City police station and Hari Market police post conducted raid in Hotel Login at Shaheedi Chowk and arrested 14 gamblers along with Rs 4,067,70 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Khursheed Ahmed alias Munna, son of Ghulam Rasool of Talab Khatikan, Shubham Mahajan, son of Naresh Kumar of RS Pura, Nitin Sharma, son of Jugal Kishore of Dalpatian Mohallah, Ankush Sharma alias Rinku, son of Sham Lal Sharma of Nai Basti, Amit Gupta, son of Chander Prakash Gupta of Patel Nagar, Rohit Mehra, son of Som Dutt of Sanjay Nagar, Nasir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Rafiq of Dalpatian Mohallah, Vishav Mehra, son of Ashu Mehra of Gummat, Ankaj Singh, son of Gija Singh of Kachi Chawni, Naresh Kumar, son of Lal Singh of Nai Basti, Gajan Kumar, son of Surinder Kumar of Janipur Colony, Harsh Kumar, son of Satish Kumar of Channi Himmat and Rajesh Singh (Manager of Hotel Login), son of Hari Singh of district Ramban.
Police also recovered and seized a pistol and two live cartridges from the possession of the accused Amit Gupta, who happens to be a businessman having garments shop at Purani Mandi.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered against the accused at City police station and investigation started.
Police team headed by SDPO City North Perbeet Singh Parihar and accompanied by SHO Police Station City Inspector Shakti Sharma, Incharge Police Post Hari market SI Kunal Singh and Incharge Police Post Residency Road SI Arun Bhagat made the arrests under the supervision of SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
