UDHAMPUR, May 9: A deputation of Udhampur Hotel, Bar and Restaurant Association (UHBARA), led by its president Vikram Singh Slathia called on the Executive Officer of the Udhampur Municipal Council and registered objections against the notification issued for Professional/Trade Tax on different business within the jurisdiction of Udhampur Municipal Council.
Slathia explained that no such tax has been imposed in any other part of the State except Udhampur and the UMC must with withdraw this notification, which has a number of flaws.
Even if there is any instruction from the Government for slapping this tax, the flaws in the notification must be removed and sorted out in consultation with the business community, he added.
The Association also submitted a memorandum to the UMC officer seeking immediate withdrawal of the said notification.
The deputation comprised of Sanjeev Kumar, Ramnik Singh, Satvinder Sharma, Ramneek Anand, Ashok Kumar, Sham Lal, Gopal Singh and Kuldeep Singh.
