“There is a need for releasing the full payments of 2015, 2016, 2017 financial year—which still lies pending along with the release of the percentage amount on account on liability by Finance Department which is being stopped by R&B for unknown reasons,” the President of the Hot Mix Plant Owners’ Association today said.
He said that there is also the issue of low estimation tenders on account of macadamization and up-gradation of roads by R&B, PMGSY and other departments.
“The works will be boycotted until a revision of realistic estimation because there is price escalation in Bitumen, diesel, bajri and labour and the same needs to be taken care of,” he added.
He also demanded the start of e-payments after the completion of works to avoid manipulation of treasuries. “Every tender will be boycotted until the fulfilment of our demands that we have raised,” he said.
The Association underlined that the approach of engineers towards the contractor fraternity as well as towards the development of the UT is negative. “There is a need for making the environment friendly and conducive for effective functioning of the matters,” they said.
